Tactical BDC 5.56 8x Reticle

Working in harmony with your projectile’s flight path, the Tactical BDC - 5.56 (8x) reticle from Hawke delivers practical aiming references for rifles and pistols built on the AR platform.

Designed specifically around the ballistic behavior of 5.56 mm ammunition, it enables far more precise holdovers than conventional reticles.

The glass‑etched BDC reticle incorporates an illuminated central dot and a surrounding horseshoe to speed up target acquisition, while the integrated windage markers support improved shot placement in varying conditions.

An initial zero can be set at 50 meters, giving reliable accuracy with the central aiming point out to roughly 180 metres.

For optimal precision and correct use of the BDC system, the zero should then be confirmed and fine‑tuned at 180 metres.

The reticle can also be adapted for other calibers by adjusting the magnification to match their ballistic curves.

If preferred, the aiming marks may be calibrated directly for metric distances by slightly reducing the magnification, allowing the shooter to align the holdovers with meter-based ranges.
