More info

Phosphor Bronze Brush is a specialized cleaning tool developed by Parker-Hale for cleaning firearms barrels.

Maintenance is a crucial step in keeping accuracy, safety, and longevity.

Residue from powder, lead, or copper can build up inside the bore, affecting performance and potentially causing corrosion.

Using a proper solvent and a bore brush or swab helps remove fouling efficiently.

Regular barrel cleaning ensures consistent shooting results and protects the firearm from long-term damage.

Caliber: 6.00 mm (.240"-.243")

Key Features

  • Threaded to fit Parker Hale and most cleaning rods.
  • Manufactured using top quality materials.
  • Bronze brushes are made with military specification phosphor bronze filament.
  • Larger calibers have oval core wires for strength and durability.

Usage Tips

  • Select a brush that matches the caliber of your firearm. Brass or bronze brushes are ideal for removing fouling without damaging the barrel.

  • Lightly soak the brush with a suitable cleaning solvent (like Young’s Black Powder Cleaner or 009 Nitro Solvent) to help break down carbon, lead, or powder residue.

  • Whenever possible, insert the brush from the chamber end of the barrel to avoid damaging the crown (the muzzle’s edge), which is critical for accuracy.

  • Run the brush all the way through the barrel in one smooth motion. Avoid scrubbing back and forth, as this can cause bristle damage or uneven wear.

  • Repeat as Needed Make several passes (typically 5–10), reapplying solvent if necessary, until fouling is visibly reduced.

  • Follow with Patches After brushing, run dry patches through the barrel to remove loosened debris and solvent. Continue until patches come out clean.

  • Finish with Oil Apply a light coat of rust-preventing oil using a clean patch to protect the bore during storage.

A staple in firearm maintenance kits across the world.
